We are very happy to be able to announce that the Saguenay/Lac-St-Jean region will be the host of the 2024 Canadian Masters championship. The event will be held from April 7th to 13th 2024.
The Chicoutimi curling club and the Kenogami curling club will be partners and will host 14 women’s and 14 men’s teams representing the 14 provincial and territorial associations on a total of 8 sheets.
The Canadian masters championship has been held since 2000 and regroups the best curlers aged 60+ in Canada.
Émile Asselin, Director of Competitions for Curling Quebec declared : “We are extremely happy that we can rely on Curling Saguenay to organise an event of the magnitude of the Canadian Masters championship. Over the past few years, the organising committee has demonstrated that they have what it takes to organise a high caliber event as they organised the 2020 Canadian mixed championship and the 2023 men’s and women’s provincials in 2023. The reception of athletes in the region is always excellent and will certainly help make this event special for the participants.”
When Curling Saguenay was notified that they where chosen as the hosts of this event, here is what they had to say: “The board members of Curling Saguenay are extremely happy to have been chosen by Curling Quebec to organise this major event. We cannot wait to welcome the Master teams from all over Canada and help them discover the beauty of our region, as well as the legendary hospitality of its people. We will offer them a Canadian championship from which they will keep unforgettable memories.”
