Introducing Girls to Curling!
Girls Rock is a Curling Canada program that encourages girls to discover curling and try the sport in a positive and welcoming environment. The program provides clubs with the tools they need to organize activities specifically designed to introduce girls to curling and encourage them to come back on the ice.
A positive first experience
Girls Rock helps clubs:
- Introduce curling in a fun, safe and inclusive environment for girls from all backgrounds, helping spark their interest in the sport and build the confidence needed to try something new.
- Challenge limiting beliefs by showing girls what they are capable of and helping transform their perception of their potential through positive sport and social experiences.
- Foster friendship, leadership and self-esteem by supporting girls’ physical, mental, social and emotional development through play and teamwork.
- Highlight female role models and encourage lifelong participation in sport, helping address gender inequalities and inspire lasting engagement among girls, families and communities.
Resources for your club
Clubs interested in implementing the Girls Rock program can access a promotional kit as well as Curling Canada’s program resources. These tools can help you promote your activity in your community and attract new participants.
