The 2023-2024 season is marked by the arrival of a new series of tournaments dedicated to youths aged 15 and under. The U-15 regional tournaments are presented in each of the ten regional associations of Quebec in order to offer a tournament close to home. The purpose of these tournaments is to allow youths to develop their skills and introduce them to competition in a recreational environment.

ELIGIBILITY

  • 14 years of age or younger on June 30, 2023
  • If teams wish to travel outside their region, they have the right to participate in tournaments in other regions. However, priority for registration is given to teams from clubs within the host region.

COMPETITION FORMAT

  • 4 games (some exceptions may apply) over Saturday and Sunday
  • 6 ends per game
  • Teams can be mixed (4 boys/girls, 3 girls and 1 boy, 3 boys and 1 girl, 2 girls and 2 boys).

DOCUMENTS

REGISTRATION

Registration will open on October 1, 2023.

Teams from clubs within the host region will have priority registration to the tournaments until the date mentioned in the table below (number of entries may be limited based on the number of sheets). After this date, out-of-region teams that have registered for the tournament will be accepted if there is still room in the tournament (in order of registration).

No refunds will be issued after the registration deadline.

U15 REGIONAL FINALS

The U-15 Regional Finals will take place from April 12 to 14, 2024 at the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau curling club with the winners of the 11 regional tournaments. The 12th team to participate will be for the host club. The final will therefore be composed of 12 teams.

The entry fees for the U-15 Regional Finals will be paid by Curling Quebec. The accommodation as well as some meals will be provided for free from Curling Quebec for the 4 athletes and the coach.

* The Opémiska Curling Club is part of the North-West Regional Association. However, it is geographically closer to Saguenay/Lac-St-Jean, which is why it will host the U-15 regional tournament of this region.

* Given the high number of juniors in the Montreal area, a second tournament will be held on the South Shore.
