Hello everyone. Here are your weekly news:
1-) Curling Québec’s Annual campaign: There are five weeks left to our fundraiser 2016. We have already raised 60% or our objective, and we need our member’s help to reach 100%. The generosity of our members will allow us:
– To offer more training to our members;
– To hold special events with the clubs;
– To offer our members more online resources;
– To promote curling in youth and develop the future of curling

2-) Fundraising activity – Curling at the splendid Fairmont Château Montebello: Enjoy a gourmet curling get-away week-end in one of the most famous hotel in Québec. Includes meals, accomodation, parking and curling tournament. For more information, click here.
3-) Registration deadlines :
Elite series : men, women, seniors, masters and wheelchair – December 1st, 2016
Elite series : mixed doubles – January 16th, 2017
Junior series U21 : November 29th, 2016
4-) Reminder – Ice Technican workshop : An Ice Technician Level 1&2 workshop is offered in French in the region of Montreal next December 10-11. Probably the last ice technician workshop of the season. Don’t miss it. 5-) Permit for a draw half and half : We just renew from the Régie des Alcools, des courses et des jeux our permit for a draw half and half. The permit that we have now is valid until December 18th and the new one will take over up to December 2017. Once we receive the new permit #, we’ll let you know. This permit allows our affiliated club members to use legally a draw half and half to finance their activities.
6-) Beginners competitions: Are you looking for something new and exciting? Would you like to visit other curling clubs and play against new teams? All participants must be 18 years of age or older and must have 5 years of curling experience or less. All skill levels are welcome. For more information contact Alanna (aroutledge@curling-quebec.qc.
7-) Looking for Women Teams : Baie d’Urfé curling club is looking for women teams to complete their Curling Classic Tournament that will be held from Novemer 30 to December 4.
8 -) Quebec Coalition for tobacco control : More protection against secondary smoke at the entrance of building.
9-) Grand Match / Grande Dame 2016 : A total of 648 curlers from the Greater Montreal area participated in the 2016 edition of the Grand Match and Grande Dame held on Saturday November 19. A total of 118 men’s teams from all Greater Montreal clubs (16 clubs in total) layed in Grand Match 2016. Men from Pointe-Claire finished in first place with the highest percentage for points played and won (61.3%). In the women’s category, 44 teams representing 15 clubs competed in the Grande Dame. Women from Lachine won the event (80.5%).
10-) Melting Machine to sell : Trois-Rivières curling club owner has a melting machine to sell. It would need a little tune-up but it still works fine. This machine is used to melt the top of the ice to clean it juse before a flood. For more informations, contact the curling club owner, Marc Gélinas et 81-375-1313.
11-) 8 ender : Note that Curling Canada recognizes the 8 enders by giving certificates and pins. To do so, send Curling Québec (info@curling-quebec.qc.ca) the following informations : Date of that 8 ender, name and address of the curling club where it happened, the event during which that 8 ender occured (thursday league, local senior masters, etc…), a picture of the 8 ender, the name/firstname/position of all players and a Delivery address. 12-) Invitation : In association with Heart and Stroke Foundation, Chicoutimi curling Club invites you to its Challenger Double Mixte of Saguenay that will be held next February 3-4-5.
13-) Invitation : Join the Tournoi Mixte Modifié organized by Magog curling club next December 4 to 11.
14-) Invitation : You are all invited to join the Open Senior Tournament from January 23 to 27 at the Laurier curling club of Victoriaville.
15-) Invitation : Magog curling club invites you this time to its Magog Open Senior Tournament that will be held January 8 to 13.
16-) Invitation : Trois-Rivières curling club is expecting you at its Senior & Masters Tournament next January 5-6-7-8.
