2 Quebec teams participated from April 7th to 12th in the Canadian masters curling championship that was presented in Grand Prairie in Alberta.
In the woman’s event our representatives were Catherine Derick, Sylvie Daniel, Chantal Gadoua and Chantal Ouellette. In total, 10 teams participated in the women’s event which means that the teams played a full round Robin of nine games. Unfortunately for our team they lost a couple of very close games to finish the preliminary round with a record of 3-6 which was not enough to qualify for the playoffs.
In the men’s event our representatives were Sylvain Bellavance, Daniel Elie, Mario Dion, André Gagné and André Bellavance. There were 12 men’s teams participating which means that the teams played in two sections of six teams for the preliminary round followed by a championship pool and a seeding pool. Our men’s team also had multiple close games but finished the preliminary round with a 1-4 record. They played three games in the seeding pool to finish the championship with a record of 3-5.
We want to congratulate both teams for their week and thank them for representing us proudly.
