The qualification process for the 2027 Canada Games officially came to an end this weekend at the Laval-sur-le-Lac Curling Club, marking the culmination of a demanding two-season process. There were about sixty athletes in the fall of 2024; there are now only 10 left with the honour of representing Quebec at the upcoming Canada Games, which will take place from February 27 to March 14, 2027, in Quebec City.
For this final stage, 10 teams were still in contention: five in mixed doubles, three women’s teams, and two men’s teams. In a context where every match was decisive, the teams gave it their all on the ice. On the men’s side, the two remaining teams faced off in a best-of-five series, and the St-Lambert/Rosemère/Pointe-Claire team won the process 3-1. On the women’s side, the Noranda/Jacques-Cartier team won the tournament undefeated, earning them the right to represent Quebec at the Canada Games. In mixed doubles, the final was extremely close, with the Fortin/Brassard team winning on the last stone. Congratulations to the three winning teams and best of luck in their preparation for this major event!
