The Scotties Tournament of Hearts took place from February 14 to 23, 2025, in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Team Quebec, represented by Lisa Weagle, Emily Riley, Jamie Sinclair, and Laurie St-Georges, proudly represented the province by finishing the preliminary round with a record of 5 wins and 3 losses.
The team made a strong impression during the week by stealing 7 ends in a single game and defeating Team Manitoba (Einarson), who eventually finished with a silver medal. Unfortunately, a loss against Team Nova Scotia (Black) in their final preliminary round game hurt Quebec’s chances of qualifying for the playoffs. The team then had to wait for the completion of the preliminary round to see if they would advance.
With a record of 5 wins and 3 losses, Team Quebec narrowly missed out on qualification despite delivering excellent performances. Only the top three teams from each group advanced to the championship round. In Group B, teams from Manitoba (Einarson), Nova Scotia (Black), and Ontario (Inglis) qualified for the playoffs with records of 6 wins and 2 losses.
At the end of the week, it was Team Canada (Homan) who took home the gold medal, Team Manitoba (Einarson) who secured silver, and Team Nova Scotia (Black) who earned the bronze.
At the end of the competition, Laurie St-Georges earned the Second-Team All-Star award at the skip position!
Thank you and congratulations to Team Quebec for representing our beautiful province so well!
