The Provincial Mixed Championship took place from April 2 to 6 at the Valleyfield Curling Club. Twelve teams from across Quebec competed for the chance to represent the province this upcoming fall.
In the preliminary round, the teams were split into two pools of six. The top two teams from each group advanced to the playoffs. In Pool A, a tiebreaker was required between Team Arsenault and Team Gibeau to determine who would join Team Morissette in the playoffs. In Pool B, Team Martel and Team Desjardins secured their spots in the next round.
In the Page 1 vs 2 game, Team Morissette faced Team Martel. Team Martel managed to steal a point in the 8th end to clinch a direct berth in the final. Meanwhile, the Page 3 vs 4 matchup between Team Desjardins and Team Arsenault was another tight battle, ultimately won by Team Desjardins.
In the semifinal, Team Morissette defeated Team Desjardins to earn another shot at Team Martel in the final. In that final game, Team Martel emerged victorious with a 7-2 win over the team led by Pierre-Luc Morissette, earning the title of Provincial Champions—congratulations!
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the organizing committee led by Mr. Simon Hébert, as well as our two umpires, Mr. Jacques Deharnais and Mr. Richard Roy, for their dedication, time, and energy in making this event a great success.
Finally, we applaud the outstanding performance of all 48 athletes and warmly congratulate the medal-winning teams!
