The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Curling Québec was held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., once again in a virtual format, allowing members from all regions of the province to participate safely and conveniently.
During this meeting, several nominations to the Board of Directors were confirmed, including both re-elections and new appointments, demonstrating the ongoing commitment of our members to support and grow curling in Quebec.
Elected and Re-elected Members
Ms. Audrée Dufresne – Montreal Region (Re-elected)
A member of the Board since 2021, Audrée Dufresne continues her involvement with passion. With over 20 years of experience on junior and women’s circuits, including participation in the Canada Games and Scotties, she brings in-depth knowledge of the sport and a current perspective on athletes’ needs. An experienced professional in law, governance, and management, she contributes strategically to the Board’s decisions while promoting diversity, inclusion, and community spirit in Quebec curling.
Mr. Matthew Sigouin – Mauricie Region (Re-elected)
A Board member since 2023, Matthew Sigouin has been a curler for over 25 years and is actively involved both on the ice and in event organization. He brings expertise in event management, coordination, and customer service. His commitment is constant, both on and off the ice, and he is recognized for his dynamism and ability to rally people around collaborative projects.
Mr. Jean-Sébastien Roy – Quebec City Region (New Member)
With strong experience in governance, communication, and marketing, Jean-Sébastien Roy has contributed to numerous large-scale sports projects. Active in curling in Quebec City, he is currently completing his Associate Pro certification with the Association of Curling Professionals and will pursue the Club Pro certification this winter, enhancing his skills to support club development and community engagement.
Ms. Valérie Tanguay – Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean Region (New Member)
With a background in finance and public administration, Ms. Tanguay combines her skills in program coordination and project management with her passion for curling, which she has practiced for over 30 years. She has been actively involved in organizing the Saguenay SuperCashspiel and serving on various boards, bringing a strategic perspective to the sport’s provincial development.
Thanks and Recognition
Curling Québec warmly thanks Richard Roy and Pamela Nugent, who chose to conclude their terms this year, for their outstanding contributions to the Board of Directors.

Pamela Nugent, president during the 2024-2025 season and board member since 2019, led the board with energy, tone, and a masterful hand, while actively contributing to the growth and recognition of curling in the province.

Richard Roy, director since 2023, shared his passion and expertise, particularly in rule interpretation and officiating, helping to ensure the quality of competitions and the sport’s development.
We are deeply grateful for their commitment and leadership and wish them all the best in the future.
