The U18 Brosse Performance Provincial Championship was held from Wednesday, January 7 to Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the Curling des Collines Club, bringing together Quebec’s next generation of curlers for a week of high-level competition. A total of 19 teams, including 9 women’s teams and 10 men’s teams, took part in the event with one clear objective: to earn one of the four available spots — two on the men’s side and two on the women’s side — for the Canadian U18 Championship, which will take place in Timmins, Ontario, from February 8 to 15.
The championship was played using a modified triple-elimination format, followed by a Page playoff round, providing competitive matchups throughout the week. All teams began play on Wednesday and competed through the A-B-C brackets until the four qualified teams in each category were determined. In addition, in order to support athlete development, a Development Cup was organized for teams that incurred three losses earlier in the tournament. This initiative ensured that all teams played at least four games during the championship. Competition concluded late Sunday afternoon.
Media from the Outaouais region visited the event several times throughout the week, and we sincerely thank them for the excellent coverage. To view the reports, click on the links below:

We would like to highlight the outstanding work of the host club, Curling des Collines, whose warm welcome, high-quality ice conditions, overall organization, officiating, and snack services greatly contributed to the success of the event.
We also wish to warmly thank our title sponsor, Brosse Performance, for its continued support year after year. Its commitment to junior curling development plays a key role in the delivery of events of this caliber.

Boys
On the boys’ side, the teams seeded 1 through 4 at the start of the championship all qualified for the playoff round, although several games were extremely close. In the A final, Team Grand-Mère defeated Team Pointe-Claire to advance directly to the Page 1 vs 2 game. Team Pointe-Claire later secured its qualification by winning the B final against St-Lambert/Rosemère/Pointe-Claire. In the C bracket, St-Lambert/Rosemère/Pointe-Claire and BTR/St-Lambert earned their playoff spots on the final stones of their respective C finals.
In the 1 vs 2 game, Team Grand-Mère once again defeated Team Pointe-Claire, securing its place at the Canadian Championship. In the Page 3 vs 4 matchup, BTR/St-Lambert came out on top. During the semifinal, Team Pointe-Claire controlled the game and earned its spot at the Canadian Championship.
The final, which marked the third meeting between Team Grand-Mère and Team Pointe-Claire, remained closely contested until the end. In the final end, Team Pointe-Claire needed two points to force an extra end but ultimately had to concede once again to Team Grand-Mère.
We would therefore like to congratulate the three medal-winning teams, as well as the top two teams that will represent Quebec at the Canadian U18 Championship in the coming weeks:

Girls
On the girls’ side, the competition remained very close until the end. Pointe-Claire/Riverbend, the top-seeded team entering the championship, quickly confirmed its position by qualifying through the A bracket. The team then secured its spot at the Canadian Championship by winning the Page 1 vs 2 game on Saturday afternoon.
For the other teams, the road was more challenging. Noranda/Jacques-Cartier, seeded second at the start of the competition, lost the A final, then suffered a second defeat a few hours later in the B final against Bel-Aire/St-Lambert. This placed them in the C final, their last opportunity to reach the playoff round. With a strong performance, they earned a spot in the Page 3 vs 4 game, where they faced Team Noranda, which had also stood out with solid performances throughout the championship.
In the Page 3 vs 4 matchup, Team Noranda made the difference to secure a medal. In the semifinal between Noranda and Bel-Aire/St-Lambert, the game remained tight until Bel-Aire/St-Lambert pulled ahead with an impressive four points in the 4th end, earning a berth in the final and securing its place at the Canadian Championship.
The final therefore featured Pointe-Claire and Bel-Aire/St-Lambert. In a game that remained competitive through eight ends, Team Pointe-Claire ultimately prevailed to be crowned 2026 U18 Provincial Champions.
We would like to warmly congratulate the three medal-winning teams, as well as the two finalist teams that will represent Quebec at the Canadian U18 Championship in the coming weeks:

Development Cup
In order to support athlete development, a Development Cup was also organized for teams that incurred three losses earlier in the tournament. Following the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final, we would like to congratulate Team Victoria/Laurier, winners of the Development Cup. The team also received Performance brooms, provided by our title sponsor — thank you for your valued support!
Development Cup Winner – Victoria/Laurier: Noémie Charbonneau, Léanne Lavoie, Marion Lavigne, Pénélope Giroux, Marie-France Lafontaine (coach)
Finalist – Hudson Legion: Ashton Legault, Victor Houde, Lukas Simms, Noah Vokey, Félix Croteau, Jean-François Houde (coach)
Asham Coaches’ Award
On Friday, during the team dinner, we took the opportunity to present the Coaches’ Award, sponsored by Asham. The coaches voted to recognize one individual in the U18 girls category and one in the U18 boys category. We would like to warmly congratulate Jean-François Houde (Hudson Legion team) and Colleen Boyarchuk (Pointe-Claire / Laval / Baie-d’Urfé team), recipients of this recognition award for their positive attitude and the strong values they share with young athletes and in the curling community.
