All four Quebec teams delivered several notable performances at the 2026 Canadian Under-18 Curling Championships. Between a gold medal, strong playoff runs, and a standout presence in the skills competition, the province’s two women’s teams and two men’s teams showcased the depth of their talent during this week in Timmins, Ontario.
Team Quebec 1 men (Grand-Mère) crowned Canadian champions
The highlight of the tournament for Quebec came on the men’s side as Team Quebec 1 captured top honours on Saturday afternoon, February 14. Thanks to impressive consistency and strong team spirit, the team established itself by finishing first in its pool during the preliminary round, then winning the quarterfinal, semifinal, and ultimately the final against Team Ontario.
This victory and gold medal represent a major achievement for these young athletes. Congratulations to Raphaël Tremblay, Louis-François Brassard, Nathan B. Gendron, Olivier St-Pierre and coach Yves Tremblay for this accomplishment!

Team Quebec 2 men (Pointe-Claire): a remarkable run and a 4th place finish in Canada
Team Quebec 2 men also had an outstanding championship. The team first dominated the preliminary round by finishing first in its pool with a perfect record, demonstrating great consistency in their performances.
Building on this success, the team continued its momentum by winning its quarterfinal, allowing it to reach the tournament semifinals. Unfortunately, its run ended with a loss in the semifinal, followed by another loss in the bronze medal game.
Despite these two late losses, finishing fourth nationally remains a very impressive result, and we would like to congratulate the Pointe-Claire team for an excellent week!
Team Quebec 1 women (Pointe-Claire) reaches the playoffs
On the women’s side, Team Quebec 1 also delivered a strong performance throughout the competition. Thanks to very solid results during the preliminary round, the team successfully qualified for the playoff round.
The team’s run ended in the quarterfinals following a loss to Manitoba 2. Despite the elimination, the players performed very well and were able to compete with several of the best teams in the country.

Team Quebec 2 women (Bel-Aire/St-Lambert) stood out in the skills competition
Team Quebec 2 women did not qualify for the playoff round. However, the players were able to continue their competitive experience by participating in the skills competition, an initiative introduced by Curling Canada to support the individual development of athletes.
This competition allows athletes to perform different types of shots and be evaluated on their technical performances, while offering a dynamic and educational environment.
Angélie Thomassin particularly stood out in this event by winning the silver medal — congratulations!
A promising future for Quebec curling
Overall, Quebec’s results at this national championship are extremely positive. The province leaves with a Canadian title, a top-4 national finish in the men’s division, a playoff appearance on the women’s side, and a medal in the skills competition.
These results confirm that the next generation has all the tools needed to continue shining on the national stage, and we would like to congratulate all athletes for these outstanding performances!
