As March 8, International Women’s Day, approaches, what better way to celebrate women’s sport and inspire the next generation of athletes? That is exactly the goal of the Girls Rock program, a free curling introduction event entirely led by women and designed for girls aged 9 to 16.
Presented in collaboration with Curling Canada, this activity will allow many young participants to discover curling in a fun, inclusive, and empowering environment at several clubs across the Montreal region.
Discover a new sport in a positive environment
The Girls Rock program was created to inspire the next generation of female curlers by offering them a positive first sports experience. Participants will have the opportunity to learn the basics of curling through various games, exercises, and a 100% girls-only experience.
Led by women involved in the curling community, the activity will allow participants to meet local coaches and sport leaders. This approach aims to provide inspiring role models while fostering confidence, teamwork, and the joy of being active.
A complete and accessible experience
Girls Rock offers much more than a simple sports introduction. Each participant will enjoy a complete experience including:
- A curling introduction led by female coaches and instructors
- Fun and interactive on-ice activities
- A snack provided during the session
- A souvenir gift for participants
- A first connection with the club for girls interested in continuing in the junior program
The activity is completely free and is intended to be accessible to girls aged 9 to 16.
