Canadian Club Championship – November 17 to 24, 2024
Sunday will mark the first day of the Canadian Club Championship. The Brabant team (Boucherville) and the Lavoie team (Victoria) will represent Quebec. The women’s team will play their first game on Monday at 3:30 p.m. against Ontario, while the men’s team will wait until Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. to face Nova Scotia. How long have you been playing with this team? I have been playing with this team since last year, so this is our 2nd year together.
What do you do for a living? I am a kinesiologist in rehabilitation at the Valcartier military base.
What do you like most about curling? What I love most about curling is the combination of physical and mental aspects. You can be in great physical shape, but if you don’t execute the finer details, it can be hard to perform well. I enjoy that you can always improve and develop as an athlete with each game.
Patricia Boudreault
Curling experience: 18 years.
What do you do for a living? I work in the public service and studied criminology.
What do you like most about curling? The team aspect and the friendship/connection that forms within the team.
Roxane Poirier
Number of Canadian championships: 2nd.
What do you do for a living? I am a biologist and work in the conservation of federal protected areas at the Canadian Wildlife Service.
What do you like most about curling? It’s difficult to pinpoint what I like most about curling as there are many aspects I enjoy! I would say it’s a sport I find fascinating for its technical and strategic levels.

Curling experience: 18 years.
What do you do for a living? I am a pharmacist.
What do you like most about curling? I love the complexity of the game. There are so many factors that can determine if a shot is successful or if a team wins or loses. It’s both a technical and strategic sport where communication is also very important.
Stéphane Brabant

How long have you been playing with this team? We have been playing together for at least 10 years.
What do you like most about curling? I love that it’s a team sport where every position matters, and respect between teams is essential for winning.
Pierre Lanoue

What do you like most about curling? The camaraderie between teammates and opponents. A family spirit.

What do you like most about curling? It’s a great balance between strategy, physical effort, and flexibility—a well-rounded sport.
