Looking back on the 2024 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship
Out team is now back from the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship that was played last week in St. Catherines, Ontario,
Our team included skip Don Bowser, third Brenda Nicholls, second Dan deWaard and lead Pamela Nugent. They had a great start to their championship with 4 wins to open the competition in pool B. After two tougher games, their record (4-2) was enough to qualify them for the championship pool during which they faced off against the 4 best teams from pool A. After these four games, they unfortunately had the fifth best record in the event (5-5) and finished one position out of the playoffs.
The championship was won by the foursome from Nova Scotia.
We would like to mention that Mr. Jacques Desharnais, an official from Quebec, was invited to the event to be part of the officiating crew.
Congratulations Don, Brenda, Dan and Pamela for your great run at the event and thank you for amazing representatives for our province!
