This past weekend, we presented the first two Regional Qualification tournaments of the season. These events were hosted at the St-Bruno curling club and at the club sports Belvédère. A total of twelve teams participated in both of these events.
At the St-Bruno curling club, seven teams took part in the event. Team Beaufort from the Aurèle-Racine curling club and team Mathieu Tremblay form the Laval-sur-le-Lac and Lacolle curling clubs both had 3 wins and 1 loss records after the preliminary round. They respectively faced off in the semi-final against team Maheux from the St-Bruno curling club and team Gilbert from the Sherbrooke curling club who both had 2 wins and 2 losses after the preliminary round. After wins from team Beaufort and team M. Tremblay, they faced off against each other in the final and team M. Tremblay (Mathieu Tremblay, Simon Laroche, Maxim Charbonneau, Thierry Marcotte-Naud and Thomas Corbeil) won the game and earned their spot at the 2026 Tankard.
At the club sport Belvédère, five teams were playing in the event. After the preliminary round, Team Simard from the Amos curling club had a bye directly to the final thank to their 3 wins and 1 loss record after the preliminary round. Two teams from the Noranda curling club, team Gagnon with 3 wins and 1 loss record and Team Bédard with 2 wins and 2 losses played in the semi-final match that was won by team Gagnon. In the final, team, Simard came out on top and earned their spot at the provincial championship.

The next two Regional Qualification tournaments of the season will take place from October 24th to 28th at the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau and Nairn curling clubs.
