We are pleased to announce a change to the format of the men’s provincial championship, the Hardline Tankard, starting with the 2025-26 season. After three seasons using a triple knockout format, the championship will now adopt a round-robin format, beginning with the 2026 edition, which will take place in Rimouski from January 4 to 11, 2026.
The qualification system will remain unchanged, with a total of 16 teams earning their spots through the following criteria:
- The champions of the previous season’s championship
- The champions of the current season’s circuit final
- The top three teams in the CTRS standings
- The top three teams in the provincial circuit standings
- The six winners of the regional qualification tournaments
- Two teams that qualify through the Tankard Qualifier
The 16 teams will be divided into two sections of eight, each competing in a round-robin tournament. Afterward, the top three teams from Section A will face the top three from Section B in the championship round. Finally, a Page playoff will determine the team that will represent Quebec at the Montana’s Brier.
