Hello everyone. Here is your weekly news:
1-) Change in the Meritas Awards 2016-2017 : Please take note that the deadline to submit an application for the Meritas awards is now May 31st. Also take note that starting this year, the forms are now available on our website by clicking here and that all nominations will be sent to your regional association. They will determine the regional finalist in each category and will forward the list to the appropriate Curling Quebec committee who will determine the provincial winners (all forms already received and to be received at Curling Quebec will be sent to the appropriate regional association). As usual, the winners will be announced at the next Annual General Meeting in September.
2-) On the road : Last week, our coordinators Chantal and Jonathan visited the clubs in Chapais, La Sarre, Rouyn and Amos to offer workshops on curling management and development. The management workshop helped curling clubs establish a business action plan and think of new ways to develop their business. The workshop on development programs informed clubs about the initiation programs Curling 101, Igloo and Curling in the gym – and some clubs have already announced that Curling 101 will be used next season to attract new players to the sport. Thank you to the clubs for their warm welcome!
3-) Provincial budget 2017-2018 : 3 million dollars more for physical activity and sport. Also good things for sport infrastructures.
4-) Coach Canada Multi-sport Training : For coaches, many multi-sport modules can help you reach higher levels as a coach, and can also be counted towards the maintenance of your certification. Click here to see the multi-sport modules and other details.
5-) Invitation : The LES BLEUETS GIVRÉS training camp will be back this fall. This unique camp has been offered for the last 10 years and will be back again from September 23, 24, 2017.
Have a nice weekend 🙂
