2- REMINDER: Meeting – Competitive Curling: Curling Québec is organizing a meeting at Glenmore Curling Club on May 5 to discuss the future of competitive curling. Representatives from all regional associations, as well as player reps will be present. The meeting is open to everyone so do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
3- REMINDER: HP CAMPS – September 7-9: Are you looking to kick-off the next season ahead of the pack and learn from experienced coaches ? Secure your spot quickly to one of the 3 sessions offered next September in Boucherville (there are currently only 4 places left for the Saturday session). http://curling-quebec.qc.ca/programs-services/hp-training-camps/?lang=en
4- Three (3) administrator positions to fill at Curling Québec: The period to register for one(1) of the three(3) administrator positions to be filled on the Board of Curling Québec are now open; you have until August 16th, a month before the Annual General Meeting scheduled for September 16th, 2018, to register. The members of the board are elected at the Annual General Meeting. Four (4) people are elected in the odd years and three (3) are elected in the even years. Each board member’s mandate is for a two-year period. The mandates are renewable. 5- Amos Curling Club is now 50: During the Interprovincial Bonspiel last April 14th, the president of the board of Curling Québec had the honor to give a plaque for the 50th anniversary of the Amos Curling Club. Congratulations and we hope that you have more than another 50 years to come! 6- RAY KINGSMITH AWARD: Congratulations to Mike Carson who officially received Curling Canada’s Ray Kingsmith Award yesterday for his outstanding contribution to the sport of curling. The award was presented by Mr. Resby Coutts (Chair of Curling Canada’s Board of Directors), Ms. Cathy Hughes (Curling Canada Board of Director) and Mr. Pierre Bédard (Curling Quebec Board of Directors). Thank you also to the Kénogami Curling Club for organizing this special evening.
7- The BROSSE PERFORMANCE KIT winner: Players who took part of the Caledonia Cup had the chance to participate in a prize draw which included: 4 pairs of shoes, 4 pairs of pants, 4 Spyder Brooms and 1 broom bag for a total value of 1500$ (see picture below). Congratulations to M. André Bellavance who won the prize. We take this opportunity to thank Brosse Performance and Martin Ferland for their support in the sport development and their precious collaboration over the years.
