Hi everyone. Here is your weekly news:
1- Change in eligiblity for the Jeux du Quebec: All athletes must be born between July 1, 2002 and February 15, 2007 to be eligible to participate in the upcoming 2019 Jeux du Québec. (The eligibility timeframe was extended by 2 months to accommodate more players.)
2- First Colts tournament of the year: The first event on the Colts circuit will take place from November 23 to 25 at the Lachine Curling Club. The Colts circuit is for players with 5 years of curling experience or less. There are still a few spots available for the first event, so sign up today by sending an e-mail to Marc Richard: info@lachinecurling.com
3- Bel-Aire celebrates its 60th anniversary and receives the Club of the year Meritas Award: Last Friday, Bel-Aire curling Club celebrated its 60th anniversary. A ceremony full of reminiscence and nice perspectives for the future. Curling Québec was present. Was also present François Vary from the ARCM. We saw and admired the renovations that the club made (lightning, painting, etc…) Denis Pelletier, President (left on the picture) received from Stefan Sasura, secretary of Curling Québec (right on the picture), the Club of the year Meritas Award. Congratulations and we wish you many other years to come.
4- Saguenay, Que., to host the 2020 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship: Canada’s top mixed curling teams will play for a national championship in La Belle Province. The 2020 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship will be played Nov. 4-9, 2019, at Foyer des loisirs et de la culture in Saguenay, Que., it was announced today by Curling Canada. “As a competitor,…” (click here to see the complete press release)
