The Winter Olympics inspire you to get moving, try new sports… and curling is no exception. Good news: during the Olympic period, there are several concrete opportunities to try curling, whether in shopping centers, in clubs, or through activities specifically designed for beginners!

Discover Curling at CF Shopping Centers in Montreal and Laval
As part of the Olympics, curling comes to the public with accessible and free activities in two major shopping centers to try curling off the ice.

A Curling Introduction for Girls in the Montreal Area on March 8
With International Women’s Day approaching on March 8, what better way to celebrate women’s sports and inspire the next generation of athletes? That’s exactly the goal of Girls Rock, a free introductory curling event led entirely by women and designed for girls aged 9 to 16. Presented in collaboration with Curling Canada, this activity will give many young participants the opportunity to discover curling in a fun, inclusive, and empowering environment across several clubs in the Montreal area.
Girls are invited to join us on March 8 at the Laval-sur-le-Lac Curling Club, St-Lambert Curling Club, Town of Mount Royal Curling Club, Glenmore Curling Club, and the Montreal West Curling Club to discover a sport they may have seen on social media or on TV!
Curling 101 for Women: A Class 100% for Women!
Want to get moving, discover a new sport, and share a unique moment with other women? Curling 101 for Women is an 8-week program specifically designed for those who want to try curling in a welcoming, motivating, and pressure-free environment.
In small groups of up to eight participants, you’ll meet each week to learn the basics of curling, progress at your own pace, and above all, have fun. Each session includes two hours of practice on the ice, followed by a social moment with snacks, perfect for conversations and bonding.
Offered by Curling Quebec in the Montreal and Quebec City regions, this program is perfect to experience curling differently, take time for yourself, and enjoy a 100% female sporting and social experience.

Nothing beats real ice to understand why curling is so popular. During and around the Olympic period, several curling clubs in Quebec organize open houses or beginner activities. These activities allow you to:

- Learn the basics of throwing and sweeping

- Free 30-minute time slots will be offered, including equipment and coaching, at 1:00 PM, 1:30 PM, 2:00 PM, and 2:30 PM. Registration on-site starts at 12:45 PM.
- This activity is for people aged 10 and up. To ensure participant safety and maintain ice quality, everyone must bring clean indoor shoes or sneakers. The club will provide the necessary rubber slider to cover your shoe.
