Hello everyone. Here is your weekly news:
-) Fundraising for Curling Quebec: We remind members interested in investing in curling that donations received before December 31st will be eligible for tax deduction for the year 2016. Donations will be matched 230% by the Gouvernement du Québec. Click here to make a donation.
-) A particular thanks: Curling Quebec would like to thank Mike Carson for all of his help throughout this season. We asked Mike if he would be willing to help us by verifying the draws for our championships as he is an expert in balancing sheets, rocks colours, etc. Due to many different factors, it is often very difficult to come up with the “perfect” draw, but we try to get it as perfect as possible. Thanks a lot for your help Mike!
-) Mixed Doubles Provincial Championship: The registration deadline is January 16, 2017. It is an open registration, all teams directly qualify for provincials. Register now!
-) Eastern and Western Zones: The eastern and western zone qualification tournaments will be held this weekend in the Aurèle-Racine CC (east) and the Valleyfield curling club (west). The top 6 teams will earn their spots to the WFG Tankard in January. Follow the results online: http://curling-quebec.qc.ca/scores-and-results/?lang=en#!/
-) Licence for Half & Half raffles: This week, we received our renewal for our half & half raffle licence from the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux from which all of our affiliated clubs can benefit. However, note that, according to the law, the draw must be done the same day as the ticket sales. Our new licence is valid until December 13th, 2017 inclusively.
