The Junior Mixed Doubles Provincial Championship took place from March 6 to 9 at the Laval-sur-le-Lac Curling Club. A total of 14 teams participated in the first edition of this championship.
The championship unfolded over four intense days, as the competition followed a triple knockout format. Team Lafrance/Tremblay qualified through the A event, while Team Fortin/Brassard secured their spot through the B event. Teams Lafrance/Lauzon and Roy/Roy qualified through the C event. Lafrance/Tremblay won the Page 1 vs. 2 game and went on to claim victory in the final. With a flawless record, Team Lafrance/Tremblay became the first-ever Junior Mixed Doubles Provincial Champions!
The host club provided an incredible experience for the young athletes, offering maple taffy, ceremonies featuring a bagpiper, and a traditional sugar shack dinner with fun activities.
We would also like to congratulate Arielle Lacombe-Mercado for winning the Sportsmanship Award!
