The first championship of the 2025-26 season, the 2025 Circuit Final ended on Sunday November 16th at the Trois-Rivières curling club.
The participants were very well received by the volunteers at the host club. The plain conditions were wonderful thanks to the work of the team of ice technicians led by Neil Gargul and the championship was supervised by our officials Johanne Charest and Louise Cardinal. The hard work of everybody involved allowed to host a great event.
In the seniors category, eight teams participated in the event. Team Ferland (Etchemin and Trois-Rivières) and team Élie St-Bruno, Lacolle, Glenmore and Aurèle-Racine) Played in the final. Both teams had perfect records of three wins and no losses during the preliminary round and respectively had wins against team Briand (Rosemère, Valleyfield and St-Bruno) and team Bernier (Laurier) In the semifinals. In the final, team Ferland (Martin Ferland, François Roberge, Éric Sylvain and Jean Gagnon) Were able to keep their perfect record with a 7-5 win. This means that they are now qualified for the 2026 senior provincial championship.
On the men’s side 10 teams participated. After the preliminary round, team Ménard (Des Collines, Glenmore, Belvédère, Etchemin, Victoria and Valleyfield) Held a perfect record of four wins and faced off against team Gilbert (Sherbrooke) Who qualified for the playoffs with a record of two wins and two losses. The second semifinal opposed team Martel Chicoutimi, Glenmore and Etchemin) and team Léandre Girard (Victoria, Jacques-Cartier et Hudson Legion) With both teams having three wins and one loss. After wins from team Ménard and team Martel, team Ménard (Jean-Michel Ménard, Félix Asselin, Martin Crête and Jean-François Trépanier) were also able to keep their perfect record with a 5-4 win in the final.
Since team Ménard were was already qualified for the 2026 Tankard provincial championship, team Martel which consists of Yannick Martel, Jean-François Charest, Émile Asselin and Bradley Lequin earned the spot at the championship that is given out during the circuit final.
