Curling Québec would like to pay tribute to Mr. Jack Crombie, a true builder of curling in Quebec.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Jack Crombie. Jack Crombie was a pillar of curling in Quebec — a man whose passion and commitment shaped the sport for more than 30 years. Based in Hudson, he tirelessly served as a volunteer, official, administrator, committee chair, and organizer of numerous championships. His leadership was instrumental in the 2001 amalgamation of provincial associations into the federation we now know as Curling Quebec.
Known for his inclusive leadership and quiet kindness, Jack was the recipient of prestigious honours, including Curling Canada’s Award of Achievement and his induction into the Curling Québec Hall of Fame as a builder in 2019. He also contributed at the national level, representing Quebec at the Canadian Curling Association’s annual meetings (now Curling Canada).
Beyond the accolades, Jack was above all a man of heart. Whether on the ice, in his family hardware store, or through his community work, Jack earned the admiration of all. He leaves behind a lasting legacy in the curling world and in the hearts of all who knew him.
Thank you for your tremendous contribution. You will forever be a cornerstone of our sport.
