The 2021 Scotties Tournament of Hearts has drawn to a close, and what an adventure it’s been! Our Team Quebec has conquered the hearts of curlers across Canada and even beyond our borders! Here in Quebec, Team St-Georges’ flair had an immensely positive and refreshing impact, a necessary respite after a season fraught with uncertainty and frustration for many.
We were gifted with live elite curling on our screens, and we witnessed the breakout performance of a Team Quebec that managed to push to the brink of their abilities some of the top teams in the world. Reaching the championship round was a notable achievement, one that had remained out of reach for our representatives since 2010.
Our team received praise throughout the tournament, earning the respect of its adversaries and multitudes of fans. The comments and interactions on social media poured in constantly. Many children from as many geographical locations wish to try curling because it would appear it is the sport practiced by “Elsa, the ice princess” and heroine of the Frozen movie series.
Our deepest gratitude goes out to you, Laurie, Hailey, Emily, Cynthia and Florence, for all the wonderful emotions you gave us. We are proud to have been represented by such an inspiring and brilliant rink of women.
