Quebec Games 2024

The Jeux du Québec took place from March 5 to 9, 2024 in Sherbrooke. For the 58th edition of the Jeux du Québec, 16 boys and 15 girls teams competed for a medal. While the girls were divided into three pools of 5 teams, the boys were divided into 4 pools of 4 teams. The games were played at the Ivan-Dugré Arena as well as the Sherbrooke Curling Club.

We were able to watch our great young players have fun while performing at a high level throughout the event. After two full days of competition, 8 teams from each category qualified for the quarter-finals.

Playoffs

In the quarter-finals, the regions of Lac-St-Louis, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Capitale-Nationale and Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean earned their spots in the semi-finals on the girls’ side. On the boys’ side, teams from Laval, Lac-St-Louis, Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Rive-Sud won their games and threfore advanced to the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, the games were close! On the girls’ side, Lac-St-Louis won 10-7 against Capitale-Nationale and Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean won 6-5 in an extra end against Abitibi-Témiscamingue. On the boys’ side, Laval won 8-1 against Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Lac-St-Louis won 5-2 against Rive-Sud.

The Lac-St-Louis girls and boys teams advanced to the finals to defend their titles as Quebec Games champions. They were joined by the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean team on the girls’ side and the Laval team on the boys’ side. The finals were just as interesting and captivating! We congratulate all the teams for their participation in the Jeux du Québec and we congratulate the medal-winning teams for their impressive performances!

Sportsmanship Award

During the Jeux du Québec, each sport must award a sportsmanship award to one region. The officials, the host committee and Curling Quebec came together to designate the winners of the sportsmanship award for both the boys’ and the girls’ categories.
