  • Teams from other provinces and international teams are welcome to participate and test themselves against top-level competition

Tournament Details

Excellence-type tournaments are competitive events that aim for the highest level of play. Here are the key details:

  • The registration fee is $350 per team.

  • Each team is guaranteed 3 games, and all matches will be played over 8 ends. There will be two separate categories: girls and boys.

  • Teams that qualify for the playoff round will receive cash prizes. In each tournament, 4 teams will advance to the playoffs. The two teams that lose in the semifinals will tie for 3rd place and receive the same prize amount. If there are 8 teams per category, and subject to additional sponsorships, the total prize purse will be $2,000, distributed as follows:

    • 1st place: $800

    • 2nd place: $500

    • 3rd place (2 teams): $350 each

  • All teams from Quebec must have a coach who meets the required qualifications (Competition–Introduction coach training, Making Ethical Decisions evaluation, Safe Sport module, and a background check). Coaches must be certified at the Competition–Introduction level for the U18/U20 provincial championships.

  • Quebec teams participating in these tournaments can earn points toward qualification for the U18 and/or U20 provincial championships. In each Excellence tournament, the 1st place team earns 11 points, the 2nd and 3rd place teams earn 10 points, and all other teams earn 6 points.

  • Only teams that meet the eligibility requirements can accumulate points. For more details, click here.
