The Quebec Federation of Curling, Curling Québec, is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate individual to fill the position of Director General, to lead our dynamic team in its Montreal Head Office.
The challenge of guiding the general management of Curling Québec is particularly suited for a leader with a strong sense organization who appreciates and flourishes within a framework of teamwork. The position of Director General is a full-time position, reporting to the Board of Directors composed of seven (7) volunteers.
PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES
In carrying out their tasks and responsibilities, the Director General will notably perform/maintain:
– The application of the mission, vision, and values of Curling Quebec ;
– Annual and three-year strategic planning ;
– The management of human, financial and material resources ;
– Compliance with the policies and regulations in force ;
– Relations with associations and members of the Federation ;
– Planning and carrying out of championships, competitions and annual events ;
– Relations with the Director Generals of the other provincial associations of Curling Canada
REQUIREMENTS
– University degree or relevant experience.
– Ability to communicate in both official languages of Canada, spoken and written.
– Strong general management skills, particularly in terms of planning and organizing resources.
– Able to work in a team and to effectively communicate the vision, values, objectives, and results to
their team members.
– High availability, especially during the winter season.
– Knowledgeable about the sport of curling, experience as a player preferred.

Incorporated in 1976, Curling Québec is a non-for-profit provincial association consisting of ten (10) regional associations and 65 curling clubs who, based on their staff and volunteer structure, contribute towards the development of the sport within the province. Curling Québec also represents all of the 11,000 individual members of the various clubs. Curling Quebec is recognized by the Quebec Government, the World Curling Federation (WCF) and Curling Canada (CC), as the organisation mandated to represent the interest of the sport of curling in Quebec. Active throughout all regions, Curling Quebec is represented by all age categories. Concerned with the development of the sport on both a recreational and competitive level, Curling Quebec offers programs spanning across the five (5) levels associated with sport development, notably the Development, Initiation, Recreation, Competition and Excellence phases.
