As you probably already know, Igloo is an 8-week initiation program designed for children in elementary school (6-12 years old). Focusing mainly on the enjoyment of playing sports, kids gradually learn the basics of curling through adapted exercises and fun activities. If we consider what came out from last winter and how is going this fall, we can clearly see that participants really like the program and that such a program also proves itself to be a great development tool for clubs and instructors. Note that there is no cost associated with the implementation of the program!
Throughout the 2016-2017 season, participants can benefit from the 8-week program for only $100+tax and will also receive a new curling broom for free. Curling Québec strongly encourages its affiliated clubs to allow children in their community to benefit from this deal by offering the Igloo program. Etchemin and Jacques-Cartier curling clubs are both currently offering Igloo 1 and will pursue with Igloo 2 after Christmas. See pictures below.
