Hello everyone. Here is your weekly news:
1- Two new members: Curling Québec is happy to welcome among two new affiliated curling clubs to its community. Welcome to Cowansville curling club (225 rue du Golf, Cowansville, Qc J2K 3H1 in the Eastern townships) and Shawville curling club (381 Land St, Shawville, QC J0X 2Y0 in Outaouais).
2- Cream of the Rock: Curling Quebec is extremely proud to present CREAM OF THE ROCK, a game for curling fans, predictive geniuses and those “behind the glass skips”. Effectively we are searching for the person who knows the most about curling in Quebec… or maybe just the luckiest curling fan in the province. The concept is very simple. To participate you simply have to complete a short online form before the start of each designated provincial championship. Within the form you will select the podium teams for each event. Registration is free and cash prizes will be awarded at the end of the season. Click here for more information: http://curling-quebec.qc.ca/
3- The Eastern and Western zone: The Eastern and Western zone qualifiers will be played this weekend in Buckingham and Thurso curling clubs (west) and in Grand-Mère curling club (east). The last 6 berths to the WFG Tankard will be awarded via these qualification tournaments. Follow the action at the following link: http://curling-quebec.qc.ca/
4- Tic, Tap, Toc: The first Tic, Tap & Toc tournaments took off at TMR and Trois-Rivières curling clubs last weekend! We are now bracing to receive the results from 7 other clubs’ competitions before the holidays! Don’t forget to send us the photos of your tournaments and, if applicable, tag us in the action through social media with the hashtag #TicTapToc.
5- U-21 Brosse Performance Provincial Championship: The provincial junior championship will be held in Boucherville curling club from December 27th to 31st. Come watch the action up close by getting one of the best seats in the on-ice bleachers! Admission is free.
6- A grant of 358 000$: Town Mount-Royal curling club will receive a 358 000$ grant from the Programme de soutien aux installations sportives et récréatives from the provincial government to replace its gaz R22 refrigeration system with an ammonia system. This was the program that was announced to you several times. The club has 2 years to complete the project. A great financial help. Congratulations!
7- Invitation: Six curling clubs from the Montreal area invite you to participate in the 2018 Lakeshore Bonspiel February 17-18 & 24-25.
Have a nice weekend 🙂
