The Nordiques Foundation announced the recipients of the 2020-2021 scholarship program. Curling Quebec is proud to share the good news: Mélianne Darveau will receive a $1,500 scholarship for her athletic and academic results, as well as for her behaviour and involvement in her community.
This year, the Nordiques Foundation Evaluation Committee selected 111 student-athletes who shared $281,500 under the Excellence – Elite – Relève – Espoir programs. The Foundation awarded 32 Gold Scholarships ($4,000), 35 Silver Scholarships ($2,500) and 44 Bronze Scholarships ($1,500).
“Our mission is to support student-athletes in our region financially. The interest and success of these young role models in society have always been at the heart of the Nordiques Foundation’s Board of Directors. It is very rewarding to realize that several generations of athletes have received the support of the Foundation and that they have been able to benefit from financial levers to bring them closer to their dreams,” said Nicolas Labbé, Executive Director of the Nordiques Foundation.
Congratulations to Mélianne for this well-deserved recognition!
