The impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic are still being felt everywhere in our society and curling is not spared.
Fortunately, the revival of sports activities and the opening of several curling clubs for the beginning of this season gives us all a wonderful breath of fresh air! The province of
Quebec has more than 11,500 regular curlers and tens of thousands of occasional players who play in one of the 65 affiliated clubs in the province. The start of the season
is a great relief for many, but we must continue to diligently implement the government's recommendations for health measures.
The actual financial impact on curling clubs is difficult to quantify at this point but some have suffered significant losses due to the complete inactivity of the past year.
Curling Quebec is here to help you ensure a smooth and efficient reopening of your club. There are several initiation and development programs that will allow you to
recruit and initiate new members. Programs such as Curling 101, Women’s Curling 101, Blizzard, After School curling, U-12 and U-18 Programs, etc. have been created to provide you with a range of free, easy, and adapted tools. They will allow you to promote curling in your community and secure additional revenues. Also, your younger members can participate in the biggest skill competition in Quebec and have the chance to make it to the provincial championship in Alma in January 2022.
We are convinced that the revival of curling is important for the clubs, and we are here to support you along the way. The entire Curling Québec team is available to help and support you if you wish to implement new programs or if you want to put forward original and innovative initiatives. Do not hesitate to contact us for more information and it will be our pleasure to help you.
Have a great season!
