One cannot call the Bel-Aire curling club, in Mont-Saint-Hilaire, a passive place. Inspired by the Winter Olympics buzz, the club saw an opportunity and launched an open invitation to its community to a five-week beginners curling program to attract potential new members. The club received an overwhelmingly positive response, and all 25 spots of the program filled up in record time, with 16 adults and 9 children ages 8-12. Using three ice sheets, two for the adult newcomers and one for the youngest crowd, the Club is now in its third week of the “Olympic Special” session and judging by these images, the initiative is a roaring success!
Congratulations on a job well done to the Bel-Aire members; we hope to see all these faces again in next season’s club roster!
