The Montana’s Brier begins Friday, March 1st at 7:00 p.m. The team formed by Julien Tremblay, Jean-Michel Arsenault, Jesse Mullen, Philippe Brassard, Vincent Roberge and Eric Sylvain (coach) will represent Quebec against 17 other teams from across Canada. While the team won the provincial championship in Drummondville in mid-January, they will have to face 8 teams in the preliminary round: The Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Team Canada (Gushue), Alberta (Koe), Prince Edward Island, Alberta (Sluchinski), Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan. They will face the Northwest Territories in their first game on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. You will be able to follow the results of the games by clicking here.
Following the round robin, the top three teams in each pool advance to the playoffs. There will be no tiebreakers; if teams are tied for a playoff spot, head-to-head results will be the first tiebreaker, and if that doesn’t resolve the tie, Last-Shot Draw rankings will rank the teams — the same formula used at World Championship events and the Winter Olympics.
