A springboard to excellence—every shot counts toward gaining experience

The Junior Tremplin Circuit offers a unique opportunity for all athletes to compete while developing their skills. This circuit is the ideal starting point for those looking to improve, gain experience, and prepare for greater challenges. Participants will have the chance to stand out while having fun, with medals awarded to top-performing teams.

This circuit is intended for:

  • Young athletes up to 20 years old (who turned 20 after June 30, 2026) who wish to develop their skills
  • Men’s, women’s, and 3+1 teams (3 players of one gender and 1 player of another gender)
  • Developing U15, U18, and U20 teams

Team Eligibility

3+1 Format

This format allows incomplete, mixed, or developing teams to participate. The 3+1 model is structured as follows:

  • 3 players of the same gender
  • 1 flexible player (of the same gender or a different gender)

The team’s gender category is determined by the majority of players. If a team consists of 5 athletes, there must always be a majority of athletes of the same gender on the ice.

Team Level

To maintain the Tremplin Circuit as a development environment and a pathway toward excellence, teams with a minimum of three players still playing together who have earned a podium finish at the U18 or U20 Provincial Championships are not eligible. Likewise, Canada Games teams are not eligible.

Tournament Format

Tremplin tournaments are designed as a transition between recreational or introductory competitive tournaments (such as regional U15 tournaments) and competitive junior tournaments. The tournament format is as follows:

  • Registration fees are $125 per team. The amount will be used to cover medal costs, while the remaining funds will go to the host club to support tournament operations and post-game snacks.
  • Whenever logistics allow, teams will be guaranteed 4 games (including development games for teams that do not qualify for the playoffs).
  • The top three teams will receive medals. Meals are at the discretion of the host club; however, post-game snacks will be provided so teams can enjoy a friendly social moment in keeping with the traditions of our sport.
  • All teams must have a coach who meets the required prerequisites (Making Ethical Decisions evaluation, Safe Sport module, and criminal background check). For the Provincial Championship, coaches must be certified Competition-Introduction coaches.
  • Teams participating in these tournaments may earn points toward qualification for the U18 and/or U20 Provincial Championship(s). For each Tremplin tournament, the 1st-place team will receive 10 points, the 2nd- and 3rd-place teams will receive 9 points, and all other teams will receive 6 points. To learn more, click here.
