The 2024 Provincial Club Championship was held from March 22nd to 24th at the Trois-Rivières curling club. 12 men’s and 12 women’s teams whose members are all members of the same club and curl together in a league attended the event who was a great success this season. It was especially pleasant to have all 10 of our regions represented at this Club Series event.
In the women’s event, team Larouche from the Etchemin curling club defeated team Morissette from the Trois-Rivières curling club 10-3 in the first semi-final and team Lavoie from the Victoria curling club defeated team Néron of the Chicoutimi curling club 7-1 in the other semi-final. In the championship final, team Larouche and team Lavoie traded 6 consecutive ends of 2 or more points, but team Lavoie’s 4 points in the third end of the game where the difference maker in the game that they won by a score of 10-8. In the bronze medal game, team Néron defeated team Morissette by a score 8-2.

In the men’s event, two Boucherville curling club’s teams played in the first semi-final. In this game, team Brabant defeated team Chayer with a 7-4 final score. In the second semi-final, the local team Martin from the Trois-Rivières curling club got the 6-2 win against team Gibeau from the Buckingham curling club. The championship final for the men’s was similar to the women’s final as both teams traded the hammer through the game. In the final end, team Brabant got a great steal of 1 point to defeat team Martin 8-5. In the bronze medal game, team Gibeau controlled the scoreboard to win by a score of 7-2.
